Laboratory of Fluid Machinery
The provision of energy – especially electrical energy – is of central importance for our society. Almost all the features of modern civilization are directly linked to the availability of energy in any place and at any time.
For many reasons, turbomachinery is an indispensable part of the energy supply. They are available in all power ranges – from a few watts to gigawatts – and are therefore just as important for decentralized applications as for use in large power plants, whether nuclear, fossil, solar or fired with renewable fuels. Turbomachinery will continue to play an important role in overcoming the enormous social and technical challenges in the development and implementation of the energy supply of the future.
The research of the Professorship Fluid Machinery for Energy Technology is aimed at work on all aspects and topics from the detailed investigation of turbomachinery and components to processes and methods to increase process efficiency and integration into existing systems.
Our courses offer a broad overview of energy technology. At the same time, we provide students with sound knowledge of turbomachinery and its application in all areas.
